Very typical at the Beervelde Garden Days is that quite a number of the exhibitors makes efforts to set up their exhibit according to the theme chosen for the edition. In 2008, the theme for the spring edition was 'Flower Bulbs New Style'.
‘Flower Bulbs New Style’ is the combination of flower bulbs and other plants in an artistic and creative way. The combination of annuals and bi-annuals, perennials and shrubs creates a kind of impressionistic painting. The Dutch green-designer and plant specialist Jacqueline van der Kloet, who has been the driving strength behind de renovation of the Keukenhof in Holland, is the founder of this new style.
Together with the International Flower Bulbs Centre of Holland and guided expertly by Jacqueline van der Kloet, 15.000 bulbs were planted in view of both the visit from the international press this April and the Garden Days on the 9th, 10th and 11th of May.
We thanks Lut Laureys, Chris Moors & Danny Sey for their sympathetic pictures.
